About the Department:
The Department of Political Science in Panchmura Mahavidyalaya started its journey in the year 1965 for offering general degree course in the subject. Later on in 1970 it started offering Hounours degree in the same subject and considered as the oldest Honours department in this institution.. Many reputed teachers tried to expand the scope and reputation of the Department and with their hard effort the department became well established. In last few years some students got first class and they are now settled in life having pursued their higher studies. Under the leadership of department and their teachers the college bagged the First position in YPC at Divisional level more than once. Now the college is affiliated under Bankura University. The programmes and activities in teaching learning are modern technology driven and interactive which are well like by the learners. The department not only have excellent student teacher ratio but also qualified faculty member who are always cooperative and student friendly. With bright students taking admission in the department we hope to flourish in coming years.
