History of the Department of Geography:

The Department started teaching Geography for Three-Year B. A. General degree since 2009 with the affiliation from The University of Burdwan. From 2017-18 session the department started the new CBCS mode of learning curriculum in Geography under Bankura University. It is one of the well-equipped and excellent Undergraduate department . Various surveying instruments are available in the laboratory of the department for effective practical learning and experiences. Department also preserved various useful and precise text books on Physical and Human Geography.

The Department has a well-equipped laboratory and necessary equipment’s for conducting indoor and outdoor practical classes for the general and honours course. All kind of survey instruments, maps and diagrams are well preserved in this departmental lab.
