The institution has always been proactive to sensitize students and staff about several social and communitarian issues for the welfare of people in neighborhood and beyond. Extension activities are conducted via (1) National Service Scheme (NSS) (Presently college has three units) (adopted villages – Kulbani, Salbagan and Marasol)
Extension Activities conducted by NSS are Tree Plantation, Swachta Pakhwada, Blood Donation Camp, Thalasemia Carrier Test, AIDS awareness, Observation of World Environment Day, Independence Day, Republic Day,Gandhi Jayanti, Jatiyotabodh o Netaji Subhash, Plastic Se Raksha Swachhta Hi Suraksha, Anti-Tobacco Day and many. The efforts of our cadets and volunteers had led to the mitigation of perils, namely, plastic pollution, tobacco abuse, deforestation, thalassemia, AIDS and unhygiene in the neighbourhood. They had enthusiastically participated in developing awareness about health-hygiene, child marriage, dowry system, child labor among the people in their own surroundings.
The spirit of nationality and integrity is imbibed in the heart of our students through participation in Republic Day parade Camp, National Integration Camps, "Young Warrior'' programme organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, 'Celebration of Constitution Day' organized by Central Bureau of Communication, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
The spirit of oneness, brotherhood and unity is reflected through the financial support (salary donation made to Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund Kerala) provided to the flood affected people of Kerala – we stand strongly beside them in such awful days. The societal physical insecurities faced particularly by girls is taken care of by the institution by imparting lessons on self-defense. Sound and positive mental health of all our stakeholders is accorded top priority by provision of fitness training through yoga lessons regularly. Critical thinking and Leadership Skill of our students reaches on to higher standards as they participated and secured second rank in the District Level Youth Parliament Programme of WB Govt. organized by Panchmura Mahavidyalaya in 2019.
Our NSS volunteers have received awards / recognitions for their activities. NSS volunteer Tanmay Ghosh was awarded (i) for 2nd position at State Level Quiz Competition for AIDS Prevention & Control Programme organized by West Bengal State AIDS Prevention & Control Society, Department of Family Welfare, Govt. Of West Bengal (October, 2020), (ii) as Young Warrior by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, CBSE, YuWaah (Generation unlimited India), and UNICEF India (June 16, 2021). Tanmay Ghosh and Sibsankar Das both were awarded for 1st position at State Level Quiz Competition for AIDS Prevention & Control Programme organized by West Bengal State AIDS Prevention & Control Society, Department of Family Welfare, Govt. of West Bengal (October, 2020).NSS Program Officer, Mr. Mrinal Sinhababu was selected as the judge (December 2023) in the event ''YUVA SAMVAD': INDIA@2047' sponsored by Regional Directorate of NSS, Kolkata, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India at Jamini Roy College. Ms. Sugandha Roy, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science of Panchmura Mahavidyalaya was invited as the judge for Mock Parliament in ‘Inter School District Level Youth Parliament and Quiz Contest – 2022-23’, Bankura. In 2019, Panchmura Mahavidyalaya was selected as organizer of district level Youth Parliament Programme. Somnath Samanta, our student was awarded for the best Marshall. Tina Mit and Sampa Mit, two of our students were awarded for their performance as best leader of the house and best parliamentarian, respectively. A team of Manasi Dey and Amit Sen won the third prize in a quiz competition in the same programme. Our College secured the second position in the same event. Ms. Shampa Mit was awarded for her meritorious performance in the division level Youth Parliament Programme.
