History of the Department of Economics:
Located amidst the lap of Nature's verdant beauty, the department started it's journey since 1965. In the beginning, economics as a subject combination was offered only to those students who enrolled themselves for the BA general course. Later on, in 1996, the department opened up its avenues for them who opted Economics as their Honours subject in science under the University of Burdwan. Presently, we are following the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) curriculum of the Bankura University. Parallel to the fulfillment of the academic responsibilities, the department actively participates in different extra-curricular and inter-disciplinary activities organised by the college from time to time.
